Jayantibhai Patel (1931-2014)
From humble beginnings in the jungles of Africa, to becoming a well-respected teacher for 17 years, Jayantibhai found his way to the United States in 1970 to live the ultimate American dream. To build a better life for his family, he came to San Francisco on his own sacrificing precious years with his wife and 5 very young children. Unable to find a teaching job, he entered a lease-option to buy contract for the Vincent Hotel, in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District. With the support of his wife, and the help of his job at Bank of America, he was able to purchase Vincent Hotel, making it his first hotel investment of many more to come. This marked the early beginnings of Lotus Management, Inc. He has left a legacy for his family.
Prakash has led Lotus since its inception, growing it into a multi-state hospitality company. He continues to work closely with Lotus corporate to achieve company financial goals and uphold Lotus values at both the corporate and hotel level.
An entrepreneur at heart, Prakash continues to execute his vision for the company through creative financing, asset management, and real estate solutions to achieve growth.
Prakash is active in several community organizations, lending his expertise through service and extensive philanthropic activities sponsored by the Lotus Foundation, a charitable arm of the company.
Paresh has been a member of the executive team since the company’s founding. He oversees all aspects of new construction for Lotus, a key driver of company growth. For each new development project, Paresh oversees site feasibility analysis and relationships with national franchisors and general contractors.
Paresh’s connection to the industry began with an early involvement in the family hospitality business that sparked an abiding interest in hotel construction. His expertise in development has enabled Lotus to expand its portfolio and achieve secular growth.
Jiten "JP" Patel
Vice President of Operations
JP guides hotel operations across multiple regions. He oversees Accounting, Human Resources, Procurement, Sales & Marketing, and Operations. He is responsible for meeting growth and profitability objectives for individual hotels and ensuring that all departments are working in unison to promote and execute company values.
JP has served as president of the California Lodging Industry Association (CLIA) and is a past recipient of the Atascadero Business Person of the Year award given for service to community. He has also served as the Commissioner for the California Travel & Tourism Committee where he was involved with promoting California as a travel destination.
Pratima Patel, CPA
Pratima oversees and directs all company accounting. She has been instrumental in centralizing all accounting functions for the company according to generally accepted standards and best practices. Pratima also handles all detailed financial analysis used to prepare internal reports, creates budgets for company departments, and serves as liaison for tax related issues. She helps the company make smart business planning decisions through monitoring historical trends and other key financial information.
Prior to Lotus Pratima worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She is a graduate from Santa Clara University with a BS in Accounting and is a CPA.
Katki Patel, CFP
Director of Finance
Katki leads investor relations for the company. She also manages the company’s commercial loans for new construction projects and leasing and retail property management. Katki is responsible for developing financial models the company uses to manage risk for new and existing hotels. She also serves as president of Lotus Real Estate and Development where she is responsible for land purchases and overseeing financial transactions and loans.
Before joining Lotus Katki worked in financial planning and advisory services. She is a licensed broker, she holds a BS in Finance with an emphasis in Accounting from Santa Clara University and is a Certified Finance Planner®.
Director of Development
Rakesh manages all aspects of new hotel construction including site assessment, franchise selection and application, pre-construction planning, project scheduling, FF&E acquisition, and installation for new projects. He also serves as vice president of Lotus Real Estate and Development where he oversees all new construction projects. Rakesh currently serves as a member of the Emerging Leaders Council for the IHG Owners Association.
Prior to Lotus Rakesh worked as an independent General Contractor in new construction and remodeling for both commercial and residential projects.
Regional Director of Operations
Uloopi oversees operations for several properties on California’s Central Coast, working closely with Lotus General Managers to support each hotel. Her responsibilities include day-to-day revenue management across all channels and monitoring of market trends and data to benchmark company hotels and improve financial performance. Uloopi has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. During the course of her career, Uloopi has held roles at every level of the hotel providing her with invaluable first-hand knowledge of the hospitality industry.
Sunil Patel, CHA
Regional Director of Operations
Sunil oversees operations for several hotels in the Lotus portfolio. He has also served as Lotus hotel General Manager handling all aspects of opening, operating and growing a hotel. Today he works with Lotus General Managers to ensure the company’s hotels are living up to company reputation for excellence in service and profitability.
Sunil received a CHA (Certified Hotel Administrator) for his exceptional work as a hotel General Manager and executive. He also has extensive experience in the restaurant industry having owned and operated restaurants in the Quiznos franchise. Sunil is a graduate of San Jose State University with a double major in Finance and Management.
Sita Patel, CHA
New Opening Procurement and Regional Director of Operations
Sita is responsible for developing pre-opening plans for new company hotels. As a Regional Director of Operations, she supervises the development and revisions to hotel business plans and annual budgets, analyzes financial reports, and works with property and regional associates to maximize revenues.
Previously, Sita was responsible for sales and marketing and worked with Lotus General Managers to design and execute hotel specific marketing plans, train staff on social media, and establish websites for all properties. Sita is a graduate of San Francisco State University with a degree in Finance and has also obtained her Real Estate Salesperson License.
Vishal helps the entire Lotus team maintain an employee-oriented, high performance culture that is focused on quality, productivity, and goal attainment. He works closely with hotel General Managers to ensure that all staff members are aware of company policies, practices and values.
Director of Human Resources, People & Culture
Prior to joining Lotus, Vishal worked in the Hotel and Staffing industry where he went through the ranks and learned the business. He brings his experience of Policy Development and Documentation, Employee Retention and Organizational Astuteness to the team. Vishal graduated from San Jose State University with a BS in Justice Studies and a minor in Business Admin.
